Colorado Springs Family Photographer || The Cutter Family

Here’s the thing about being a Colorado Springs family photographer; there is no shortage of beautiful locations to shoot in. No matter the time of day or year, I can always find a lovely surrounding for any family session. BUT, when a family comes to me and says, “Our backyard is really amazing, would you mind shooting us there?” I always, ALWAYS take them up on that!

When the Cutter family got together in July, they offered me this amazing opportunity of capturing them all in their gorgeous backyard. I loved the way the surroundings personalized the shoot and gave the kids so much freedom to play and roam and get comfortable. Of top of that, grandma bought bubble wands, hola hoops, and funny faces AND the adults got to enjoy a little beer in between shots. When all of this came together, it just made for a generally good time.

Thank you, Cutter family, for inviting me to capture you all once again. It blessed me to see how much your kiddos had grown and to see all of the cousins having such a good time together! Can’t wait to do it again sometime! Colorado Springs Family Photographer large family photoColorado Springs Family photographer CousinsColorado Springs family of five Colorado springs family photographerlaughing and hugging couplehappy family of six four young siblingscolorado springs family photographer mother hugging teen sonfamily of four colorado springs family photographer couple hugging joyful mom and dad colorado springs family photographer mother hugging two sons grandma and grandpagrandpa kissing grandmalittle girl blowing bubblesColorado Springs Family photographer little boy blowing bubblesgrandma with granddaughters little girl with funny facefunny face kidslittle boy with funny facefunny face kids

Winter Family Photos || The Lessard Family
One thing I love about living in Colorado is that we experience four distinct seasons here. When it's summer, you know it. And when it's winter, there's plenty of cold and snow to remind you of that too. And with the changing weather comes a constantly changing landscape. As a photographer, this can be wonderfully exciting. For example, I can use the same location several times a year and get completely different results each time. But these four seasons can also be a bit tricky too - a location that was beautiful and blossoming two weeks ago, might be dead and bare today. Last year with the Lessard family, I discovered that this little ...

Colorado Springs Family Photographer || The Hodges Family
The Hodges family contacted me in November to take their family photos. Although I was so happy to hear from them, I often get nervous in the late, late fall when seems that Colorado Springs has lost so much of it's color and charm. But, Kecia and Kevin chose the perfect location for this time of year - a great big field with mountain silhouettes - because we all know that those mountains never loose their beauty around here! I was also thrilled when they showed up to their session in bright, bold colors. This was the perfect choice for the time of year and the perfect way to make them stand out beautifully in this setting! Just like Mark ...
Celebrating 30 Years [a sibling anniversary surprise]
I love it when people give photos as gifts and I especially love it when I get to work with my clients to carry out a surprise. Vienna got in touch with me in March because she and her brother, Philip, wanted to do a photo session to surprise their parents for their 30th wedding anniversary. We had so much fun! It makes me so happy to see siblings who are still close friends even as adults. Vienna and Philip have the kid of relationship that I pray my kids will share when they are older! I've been so looking forward to sharing these photos with you, but I had to wait until the cat was out of the bag first! The big anniversary was celebrate ...
