Colorado Springs Family Photographer || The Cutter Family

Here’s the thing about being a Colorado Springs family photographer; there is no shortage of beautiful locations to shoot in. No matter the time of day or year, I can always find a lovely surrounding for any family session. BUT, when a family comes to me and says, “Our backyard is really amazing, would you mind shooting us there?” I always, ALWAYS take them up on that!

When the Cutter family got together in July, they offered me this amazing opportunity of capturing them all in their gorgeous backyard. I loved the way the surroundings personalized the shoot and gave the kids so much freedom to play and roam and get comfortable. Of top of that, grandma bought bubble wands, hola hoops, and funny faces AND the adults got to enjoy a little beer in between shots. When all of this came together, it just made for a generally good time.

Thank you, Cutter family, for inviting me to capture you all once again. It blessed me to see how much your kiddos had grown and to see all of the cousins having such a good time together! Can’t wait to do it again sometime! Colorado Springs Family Photographer large family photoColorado Springs Family photographer CousinsColorado Springs family of five Colorado springs family photographerlaughing and hugging couplehappy family of six four young siblingscolorado springs family photographer mother hugging teen sonfamily of four colorado springs family photographer couple hugging joyful mom and dad colorado springs family photographer mother hugging two sons grandma and grandpagrandpa kissing grandmalittle girl blowing bubblesColorado Springs Family photographer little boy blowing bubblesgrandma with granddaughters little girl with funny facefunny face kidslittle boy with funny facefunny face kids

The Baldwin Family {ALL together}
I love it when I get a call from a mom or a grandma that goes a little something like this; "We're all going to be together next month and would love to have our pictures taken." I love it because I know just how hard it is to get everyone together. I live in the same state with all of mine and my husband's family and the times when all of us are together are few and far between. When I hear that a family - that is separated by many, many miles - is all coming together, I certainly appreciate the importance of that event! My favorite part of these shoots is when grandma and grandpa get right down on the ground and we surround them with ...

The Hause Family || A Newborn at Christmas
I know it's February and that we just celebrated Valentine's day. But are you willing to travel back with me to Christmastime just for a minute? It's never too late to remember Christmas, right? The Hause family got to celebrate Christmas with a newborn - and a lively two-year-old - this past year, and I got to capture just a teeny, tiny bit of that treasured time. Adding a new little life to a family brings so much hope and joy. But there's something extra precious about adding that tiny newborn at Christmas. These smallest ones are a tangible reminder of what we are celebrating. Holding them in your arms you realize that the crying an ...
The Atkins Family
Last summer, when I donated a portrait session to an auction benefiting a friend's adoption fund, I was a little bit anxious to see who the winning bidder would be. A few weeks later, I was THRILLED when I got an email from Justine letting me know that she was indeed the highest bidder and asking when she could book her family session. Justine and I were friends in high school but haven't really spent much time together since. I've watched her little family grow and grow and grow via Facebook and I could.not.wait to get my camera on her beautiful babies. I enjoyed photographing them every bit as much as I thought I would  and I can testify ...
