Evangeline is One || Colorado Springs Family Photographer

Little miss Evangeline is proof that you only need a baby to be happy for 15 minutes to get beautiful photos. This little lady had her heart set on adventure the minute she arrived at the park for her one-year portrait session. However, she was happy to indulge us for just a bit by sitting next to this tree and laughing at her daddy. And that was all we needed. We captured her one-year-old beauty and personality and then she was off to roam.

She wandered the path, checked out ALL the flowers, and even took a turn on the slide. And she left happy. It is my goal for my families to leave their shoot feeling like they had a good time. And I do believe that – if she could put it into words – Evangeline would tell you that she had a blast!

Family Photos in Colorado Springs || The Leong Family
The thing about taking family photos in Colorado Springs {in the winter} is that you never, ever know what you're going to get when it comes to the weather. It could be raining, snowing, windy, and blowing sleet. OR, it could be 55 degrees and sunny. So you schedule the shoot and pray for good weather. Unfortunately, in this case, we did not have any hint of sun or warmth. You know it's chilly when the session ends with the boys trying to make a boy scout style campfire right at your feet! I am,so thankful that the Leong family braved the cold and still chose to meet up with me for their portrait session. As always, Bear Creek Park did ...

The Lomax Family || Family Photos at The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center
I've said it many times before - and I'll say it again - I LOVE it when families get together. Especially big families with lots of sweet grandchildren. AND ESPECIALLY when I get to capture them. As children grow and begin to have children of their own, it is a huge accomplishment to have everyone together in the same place at the same time. It takes a lot of logistical organization and communication and effort. But it really is so beautiful too. The adult siblings still teasing each other - but with more love after all these years. The cousins getting in as much playtime as the possibly can. The grandparents so proud of their grandc ...
The Hunt Family [Visiting Colorado]
Carrie and Jared both grew up in Colorado Springs and chose this past Christmas as the perfect time to return home and introduce their daughters to its beauty. I was lucky enough to go to high school with Carrie and was thrilled when she contacted me to say she would be in town AND ask if I would capture her family amongst some of our city's most classic scenery. The day of their session was cloudy and dreary and we were all disappointed that the mountains would not be making an appearance in their photos. However, the light dusting of snow was very "Colorado" and we still had plenty of beauty to work with. Thank you, Carrie, for making ...
