Family Photos in Colorado Springs || The Leong Family

The thing about taking family photos in Colorado Springs {in the winter} is that you never, ever know what you’re going to get when it comes to the weather. It could be raining, snowing, windy, and blowing sleet. OR, it could be 55 degrees and sunny. So you schedule the shoot and pray for good weather.

Unfortunately, in this case, we did not have any hint of sun or warmth. You know it’s chilly when the session ends with the boys trying to make a boy scout style campfire right at your feet!

I am,so thankful that the Leong family braved the cold and still chose to meet up with me for their portrait session. As always, Bear Creek Park did not disappoint with it’s mountain views and grassy fields. And as for the cold, well it probably made for a few extra hugs that were fun to capture. Family Photos in Colorado SpringsFamily Photos in Colorado SpringsFamily of 8 portrait mother and daughtersbig sister and little sisterportrait of six siblingsColorado Springs Family photographerColorado springs senior photographerColorado Springs portraitsColorado Springs Senior photosColorado Springs Family photographerFamily photos at bear creek parkfamily photos in colorado springscolorado springs family photographerboys building campfire out of sticks

The Butler Family || Family Photos at Garden of the Gods
The Butler family had to say goodbye to Colorado Springs last summer. But, before they left, they made time for a few final family photos at Garden of the Gods. While their roots may be in the south, the Butler family grew from two to four during their time in Colorado Springs and Whitney Anne wanted a location that was iconic to the place where her sons were born. Garden of the Gods did not disappoint. Does this view ever get old? Colorado Springs will miss the Butlers, but I'm happy that they took a little piece of us with them. And I'm proud to say that, the last I heard from Whitney Anne, Garden of the Gods is framed and hanging in ...

The Cucco Family || Family Photos in Colorado Springs
Last year, the Cucco family scheduled their photo session right at the tail end of Fall. Having just moved to Colorado, they wanted a location that would be iconic to the city of Colorado Springs. What better location that a spot that shows off a bit of Garden of the Gods and a lot of beautiful Fall colors. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with the Cucco family - especially the adventurous spirit of their two kids. They marched through the field, picked up sticks, explored the tall grasses and displayed genuine curiosity and joy to be outdoors. Free spirited littles are always the BEST part of family photoshoots for me! If you're hoping ...
The Baldwin Family {ALL together}
I love it when I get a call from a mom or a grandma that goes a little something like this; "We're all going to be together next month and would love to have our pictures taken." I love it because I know just how hard it is to get everyone together. I live in the same state with all of mine and my husband's family and the times when all of us are together are few and far between. When I hear that a family - that is separated by many, many miles - is all coming together, I certainly appreciate the importance of that event! My favorite part of these shoots is when grandma and grandpa get right down on the ground and we surround them with ...
