Family Photos in Colorado Springs || The Leong Family

The thing about taking family photos in Colorado Springs {in the winter} is that you never, ever know what you’re going to get when it comes to the weather. It could be raining, snowing, windy, and blowing sleet. OR, it could be 55 degrees and sunny. So you schedule the shoot and pray for good weather.

Unfortunately, in this case, we did not have any hint of sun or warmth. You know it’s chilly when the session ends with the boys trying to make a boy scout style campfire right at your feet!

I am,so thankful that the Leong family braved the cold and still chose to meet up with me for their portrait session. As always, Bear Creek Park did not disappoint with it’s mountain views and grassy fields. And as for the cold, well it probably made for a few extra hugs that were fun to capture. Family Photos in Colorado SpringsFamily Photos in Colorado SpringsFamily of 8 portrait mother and daughtersbig sister and little sisterportrait of six siblingsColorado Springs Family photographerColorado springs senior photographerColorado Springs portraitsColorado Springs Senior photosColorado Springs Family photographerFamily photos at bear creek parkfamily photos in colorado springscolorado springs family photographerboys building campfire out of sticks

Aubrey’s Senior Photos
I first met Aubrey when she was just a tiny girl and her mom asked me to babysit for an afternoon. She was cute then, but oh-my-WOW what a beautiful young woman she has turned out to be. And, to top it off, she is now an incredible babysitter who is adored by my very own son. She is my go-to girl when B's grandmas are unavailable and she has certainly saved my bacon as I juggle mommy hood and volleyball this Fall. I loved every minute of Aubrey's senior photo session - but was especially tickled by the amount of accessories and variety of shoes that she brought with her. I'm pretty sure this creative and stylish lady here is going to go fa ...
The Patrick Family [Growing by One]
This beautiful friend of mine will be adding a second little girl to her family next month. She also recently moved to Denver and I miss her terribly. So, a little family/maternity shoot was the perfect excuse to get together last week. It's been cold in Denver for way too long and it looks as though this little girl will make her appearance before the snow melts. Since we couldn't wait around for things to warm up to take maternity photos, we headed for the nearest warm-place we could think of - a greenhouse. And what a beautiful greenhouse it was. I'm so thankful to City Floral Garden Center for giving us a few minutes in their beautiful ...
The Carew Family
It just seems so fitting to be closing out 2014 with the Carew family. Why? Well, because you, dear Good Photo client, were a part of bringing this family together. Really? Yes. Really. Let me explain - the Carews have been faithfully praying for and pursing and working towards adopting a child for the past three years. And finally - FINALLY- their precious little boy came home from Ethiopia the day before Thanksgiving. (Check out his homecoming here) That was such a wonderful day! But, here's the thing about adoption, it's really hard. Adopting a child takes a lot of patience and faith and, well, finances. When the Carews committ ...
