Family Photos in Colorado Springs || The Leong Family

Families

The thing about taking family photos in Colorado Springs {in the winter} is that you never, ever know what you’re going to get when it comes to the weather. It could be raining, snowing, windy, and blowing sleet. OR, it could be 55 degrees and sunny. So you schedule the shoot and pray for good weather.

Unfortunately, in this case, we did not have any hint of sun or warmth. You know it’s chilly when the session ends with the boys trying to make a boy scout style campfire right at your feet!

I am,so thankful that the Leong family braved the cold and still chose to meet up with me for their portrait session. As always, Bear Creek Park did not disappoint with it’s mountain views and grassy fields. And as for the cold, well it probably made for a few extra hugs that were fun to capture. Family Photos in Colorado SpringsFamily Photos in Colorado SpringsFamily of 8 portrait mother and daughtersbig sister and little sisterportrait of six siblingsColorado Springs Family photographerColorado springs senior photographerColorado Springs portraitsColorado Springs Senior photosColorado Springs Family photographerFamily photos at bear creek parkfamily photos in colorado springscolorado springs family photographerboys building campfire out of sticks

Colorado Springs Family Photos || The Purvis Family
For their Colorado Springs family photos, the Purvis family wanted COLOR - and lots of it! From their outfits, to their location choices, to their fun personalities, I loved everything about this session. When we began our session it was a cloudy - but warm - day. However, about 15 minutes after we began shooting, the sky let loose with a giant downpour. Knowing that we were going to have to reschedule to complete the rest of the session, I asked if they would mind playing in the rain for just a bit. What resulted was pure magic. In fact, I just might start praying for rain to interrupt every single one of my sessions! We did meet up ag ...

Bear Creek Park Family Photos || The Anderson Family
Every August, I start really looking forward to fall. Anyone else dreaming of colorful leaves and sweater weather? Since that's not quite happening outside yet,  I thought I'd bring a bit of fall to your computer screen today! I loved the Anderson Family's Bear Creek Park Family Photos last year. It's high time they come out into the blog-o-sphere. This location never ceases to wow me. It's beautiful when it's green. It's beautiful when the leaves are changing. And I've even had some great sessions here during the winter time. I was excited when Holly said she wanted to meet up here - and I was even more excited to meet her three boys. I d ...

The Gaddis Family
What a joy it was to meet up with the Gaddis family for photos at the beginning of December. They live close to Denver, but decided that the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel would be the perfect place for their family photos. They were hoping to use the photos for Christmas gifts, so I held off a bit on sharing them with you so as to not ruin the surprise. I sure hope these gifts were part of a very Merry Christmas for them! Don't let these beautiful people fool you, it was freeeeezing cold during this shoot. But, I believe that the gorgeous surroundings and the Christmas decorations made up for that fact. And didn't they do a good job of smil ...
