Lifestyle Newborn Session || Gatling Family

Lifestyle

I first met Kirsten 4-ish years ago when I arrived at the 5:45 am spin class she was teaching at the YMCA – and she’s kicked my booty in that class nearly every Wednesday morning since then! Though it’s early and dark and cold and often hard to wake up for, I look forward to that workout each week and am never disappointed that I showed up!

I was so excited for Kirsten when she announced that she was expecting a little girl and was THRILLED when she asked me to capture her beautiful, curly-headed bundle of joy once she arrived. Kirsten and Cameron are such good parents and it was so fun to see the way they calmly cared for little Kiara. I don’t know if they were just keeping it together for me, but I suspect not. They were absolutely unaffected by spit up and tears and took it all in stride on the morning of their newborn shoot.

I figured it was about time I shared these photos as little miss has already far surpassed this newborn phase. It really does go so fast, doesn’t it mamas? Hope you enjoy this little newborn love today! lifestyle newborn photos colorado springs family photographer colorado springs family photographer colorado springs newborn photographer colorado springs newborn photographer colorado springs family photographer colorado springs newborn photographer colorado springs lifestyle photographer colorado springs lifestyle photographer colorado springs lifestyle newborn colorado springs newborn photographer lifestyle newborn family photo lifestyle newborn

Dorothy Hazel [Just Brand New]
When Holly and Dave invited me to photograph the birth of their third baby, I was beyond thrilled. I can think of few other times more intense and intimate than the day a family grows by one. I was more than honored and excited to be a part of this occasion. BUT, when Holly texted me to say that she was in labor, I inconveniently found myself on the wrong side of the mountains. I was more than two hours away - having snuck away with Mark to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary - and I told him to put the pedal to the metal. Had this birth been anything like big sister Olive's, I would have had all night to get there. But, Miss Dorothy ...

Miss Geneva [First Month of Life]
I promise I won't give you a month-by-month play of my child's life. But this first month, you guys. Oh my gosh. So sweet and tender and snuggly and full of newness. I just had to share. And if you make it all the way through this photo overload, there might just be something in it for ya. If you're up for a little contest that is.Okay, now for the contest. Wanna play? I'd like you to take a guess at how many photos I took of this babe during her first month of life. Just take a stab at it. Then head over to my Good Photo Facebook Page, like that page, and then post your guess in the comments of the link to this blog post. The person ...

Five Minutes with Her Toothbrush
It's been a while since I blogged a 5-minute-project - but Christmas break means time to work on my own projects and that usually translates into sharing a few photos of my own kiddos with you! Be honest, you probably don't spend 5 minutes with your toothbrush do you? But miss Geneva does. In fact, she'll spend 30 minutes brushing her teeth - three times a day - if I let her! Here's just five minutes of her little hygiene routine.
