The Ritchie Family || Colorado Springs Family Photos

Families

I will be forever grateful to the Ritchie family for introducing me to this beautiful location during their family photos! Shyy was looking for something green, and ethereal, and perhaps a little romantic – and she found it all in Fountain Creek Regional Park. I have no idea why I’ve never shot here before, but I do know I’ll be back.

I really enjoyed the Ritchie family, and I think my favorite part of their session was learning a bit about Chris and Shyy’s love story while we walked around the park. What a sweet story they share, and now they get to share it with two precious boys.

As summer has officially faded into fall here in Colorado Springs, I hope you enjoy this little look back into the heat of summer.

Family Photos in Colorado Springs || The Leong Family
The thing about taking family photos in Colorado Springs {in the winter} is that you never, ever know what you're going to get when it comes to the weather. It could be raining, snowing, windy, and blowing sleet. OR, it could be 55 degrees and sunny. So you schedule the shoot and pray for good weather. Unfortunately, in this case, we did not have any hint of sun or warmth. You know it's chilly when the session ends with the boys trying to make a boy scout style campfire right at your feet! I am,so thankful that the Leong family braved the cold and still chose to meet up with me for their portrait session. As always, Bear Creek Park did ...

Colorado Springs Family Photos || The Purvis Family
For their Colorado Springs family photos, the Purvis family wanted COLOR - and lots of it! From their outfits, to their location choices, to their fun personalities, I loved everything about this session. When we began our session it was a cloudy - but warm - day. However, about 15 minutes after we began shooting, the sky let loose with a giant downpour. Knowing that we were going to have to reschedule to complete the rest of the session, I asked if they would mind playing in the rain for just a bit. What resulted was pure magic. In fact, I just might start praying for rain to interrupt every single one of my sessions! We did meet up ag ...

The Butler Family || Family Photos at Garden of the Gods
The Butler family had to say goodbye to Colorado Springs last summer. But, before they left, they made time for a few final family photos at Garden of the Gods. While their roots may be in the south, the Butler family grew from two to four during their time in Colorado Springs and Whitney Anne wanted a location that was iconic to the place where her sons were born. Garden of the Gods did not disappoint. Does this view ever get old? Colorado Springs will miss the Butlers, but I'm happy that they took a little piece of us with them. And I'm proud to say that, the last I heard from Whitney Anne, Garden of the Gods is framed and hanging in ...
