Wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens

As the daughter of a passionate gardner, I’ve been to the Denver Botanic Gardens many times before – but never for a wedding. When Allison asked me if I’d like to assist her with Mike & Amanda’s wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens, the answer was an immediate “yes!”

And these two Colorado Springs girls had a blast tearin’ up downtown Denver with this bridal party! From two different (gorgeous) “getting ready” locations, to the gardens, to a reception in the top of a clocktower across town, this bride and groom gave us the full urban wedding experience and PLENTY of beauty to capture.

Mike & Amanda’s day went off without a hitch…except one tiny little thing. Amanda wanted to surprise Mike with a stay at The Crawford Hotel and she did a GREAT JOB of keeping that secret. Such a great job, in fact, that she forgot to tell Allison that she’d also be getting ready there. I dropped Allison off at what we thought was the correct hotel and drove away. A minute later, I looked up to see a frantic Allison running through the valet shouting at me to stop and come back and get her.

Later in the evening, Allison and I had another chance to get our heart rates up when Amanda and Mike requested that we climb to the.very.top of the bell tower for a few photos. Even I – lover of all things thrilling – had to sit down for a minute after we completed that adventure.

You all probably know by now that I love a beautiful wedding and always, always love a good love story, but a day spent shooting, exploring and working alongside a talented friend is absolutely the icing on the cake.

I kid you not, the Farish Recreation Area is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever seen. What a privilege i ...

Their day had it all, from beautiful weather to an enthusiastic wedding party to a breathtaking bride and joyful guests who could not wait to celebrate with them! And I was honored to have a front row seat to witness it all! I once heard it said that Marriage is not romance, but rather a lifestyle. As I witnessed Ashley & Steven's love, I could tell that they not only planned a perfectly romantic day - but that they also took time to prepare themselves for the commitment of marriage beyond th ...
