Wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens

Weddings

As the daughter of a passionate gardner, I’ve been to the Denver Botanic Gardens many times before – but never for a wedding. When Allison asked me if I’d like to assist her with Mike & Amanda’s wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens, the answer was an immediate “yes!”

And these two Colorado Springs girls had a blast tearin’ up downtown Denver with this bridal party! From two different (gorgeous) “getting ready” locations, to the gardens, to a reception in the top of a clocktower across town, this bride and groom gave us the full urban wedding experience and PLENTY of beauty to capture.

Mike & Amanda’s day went off without a hitch…except one tiny little thing. Amanda wanted to surprise Mike with a stay at The Crawford Hotel and she did a GREAT JOB of keeping that secret. Such a great job, in fact, that she forgot to tell Allison that she’d also be getting ready there. I dropped Allison off at what we thought was the correct hotel and drove away. A minute later, I looked up to see a frantic Allison running through the valet shouting at me to stop and come back and get her.

Later in the evening, Allison and I had another chance to get our heart rates up when Amanda and Mike requested that we climb to the.very.top of the bell tower for a few photos. Even I – lover of all things thrilling – had to sit down for a minute after we completed that adventure.

You all probably know by now that I love a beautiful wedding and always, always love a good love story, but a day spent shooting, exploring and working alongside a talented friend is absolutely the icing on the cake.

Jamie & Chad’s Pinecrest Wedding
Jamie & Chad planned a beautiful day at the Pinecrest Event Center for their July wedding. And beautiful is was. The weather was cooperative. The decorations and details were perfect. Jamie was simply a radiant bride. And, as you'll see from the photos, Chad could not stop adoring her. Jamie & Chad chose to do a "first look" before the ceremony. What a precious moment this was. I'm always blow away that I get to have a front row seat when a groom sees his bride for the first time. Chad's reaction was priceless - pure joy really. And, honestly, it was really difficult to get Chad to look at the camera. I'm really not kidding you when I ...

Chapel of our Savior Wedding || Cathy & Dele
Last May, I was honored to assist Jen with Cathy & Dele's Chapel of our Savior wedding. SO MUCH about this day was perfect and beautifully planned - the weather, the venue, the decor, the BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES!! However, there was a heartfelt tenderness that was threaded in and out of the whole day that really caught my attention. Like when Dele took a quiet moment on the porch to write a litter to his bride - or when Dele presented her with the letter and a pair of sapphire earnings during their first look. Or the fact that guests traveled from across the whole country to celebrate this day. And the toasts - oh the toasts - so meanin ...
